PITY is a setting of Rupert Brooke’s (probably unfinished) poem, ‘Fragment’, written on board the Grantully Castle as it travelled towards the Aegean in mid-April 1915.  It was the final poem he wrote before his death by septicaemia a few days later on 23 April 1915.

Commissioned by the Gallipoli Music Memorial 2015 Foundation.
